Photography has pretty much always been part of my story. I grew up in a family of professional photographers, with a camera never too far away and a dad who owned and operated a wedding photography business in North Carolina for more than a decade. Needless to say, I caught the bug early.
Since earning my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, life has taken me just about everywhere: traveling, working in dentistry, chasing adventures, and almost always bringing a camera along for the ride.
Today, S. Rumford Photo is where all of those pieces come together. I photograph everything from sports and portraits to weddings, brands, travel, and aerial work. I've had the opportunity to create for national brands, Division I athletic programs, restaurants, creators, and clients across the country.
My approach is pretty simple: take the work seriously, but never take ourselves too seriously. I want the experience to be just as memorable as the photos: creative, adventurous, comfortable, and actually fun.
Whether I'm freezing a split-second play, hanging out of the perfect angle, chasing golden hour, or capturing one of life's biggest moments, I'm always looking for the stuff that feels real.

I've been lucky enough to work with an incredible mix of people and brands, from national organizations and Division I athletic programs to restaurants, small businesses, creators, families, and individuals. A few of the amazing names I've had the opportunity to create with are featured here.
No matter how big the brand or how personal the project, I bring the same energy to every shoot: big ideas, genuine collaboration, and a whole lot of excitement about bringing a vision to life.
Some of my favorite work has come from simply getting creative, having fun, and making something we're both ridiculously excited about.
